Licensing Your Loan Accounting
Software System
When you purchase your loan
accounting system, you will be given a key code to
convert the evaluation system to the fully licensed
system. There are only two differences between
the demo and the fully licensed system:
1 - The Evaluation
version includes "- Evaluation License - in
the title bar.
2 - The Evaluation
version includes a message in the main window,
"Evaluation Copy. Expires: mm/dd/yyyy
3 - The evaluation
version is time limited. It will quit working a few
weeks after you receive it. quit working
does not mean anything sinister. It will not damage
your system or your data. It will simply print a
message that the demonstration period has expired
and then return to Windows.
Entering Your Key Code
The Evaluation version
cannot be unlocked. You must download and
install the latest update before the key codes will
work. The upgrade program will require a password.
You will receive the password when you receive the
key codes. Your key code will consist of two parts,
an installation date and a serial number. When these
two items are entered, the Evaluation label
will no longer appear and the time limit will no
longer apply.
When you have received
your serial number and installation date codes and
after you have upgraded your evaluation system with
the latest upgrade program, start the system
and log in as supervisor.
From the Main Menu Bar,
select Administration then
System Data Maintenance then Current System
Options. The Current System Options dialog
will be displayed. (S-309)
Select the tab labeled
System Options 2.
Enterprise System Screen
(S-309)

Entering the Codes
Notice the two fields labeled
Serial No and Install Date. This is where you will
enter your key information.
Click the EDIT
button. The backgrounds of the text boxes will turn
white and you will be allowed to edit the
information.
Enter your serial number
and installation date in the appropriate boxes.
Click on the SAVE
button.
Click on the EXIT
button.
When the Current System
Options dialog closes the Evaluation message
will be gone.
Possible Problems
If you enter the date
wrong, the machine may beep and complain about an
invalid date. If this happens, you cannot do
anything until you correct the date.
If you enter the date and
serial number correctly and the Evaluation"
message does not disappear, we made a mistake in
your license information. Dont spend time
attempting to reenter it. Call Bottom Line Software.
