Typical Question:

When I create a new or existing loan using the all options screens, they do not get saved. Why?


  Answer:

You used the "New Loan All Options" screen to set up the loan in question.

One of the "All Options" is the option to set up a loan with a zero balance.

Notice that the current balance field on this screen is optional. You left it blank and the system created the loan with no balance.

On the "View Edit Post" - "Find" tab, you will see a check box to show loans with zero balances. If you check this box, you will be able to see these loans. 

On "Administration / Loan Data Maintenance / Delete Loan, you will be able to delete them. After checking the "Find Loan" button, you will again have to check the show zero balances check box.

This feature is used for loans like construction loans where the loan amount may be 200,000.00 but the first advance (balance) is only 10,000.00. Post a transaction code 11 to set up the initial balance.
